Plot: Based on an extraordinary true story, DEFIANCE is an epic tale of family, honour, vengeance and salvation in World War II. The year is 1941 and the Jews of Eastern Europe are being massacred by the thousands. Managing to escape certain death, three brothers take refuge in the dense surrounding woods they have known since childhood. There they begin their desperate battle against the Nazis. Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell star as brothers who turn a primitive struggle to survive into something far more consequential – a way to avenge the deaths of their loved ones by saving thousands of others.
At first it is all they can do to stay alive. But gradually, as whispers of their daring spreads, they begin to attract others – men and women, young and old – willing to risk everything for the sake of even a moment’s freedom. Tuvia (CRAIG) is a reluctant leader and his decisions are challenged by his brother, Zus (SCHREIBER) who worries that Tuvia’s idealistic plans will doom them all. Asael (BELL) is the youngest – caught between his brothers’ fierce rivalry. As a brutal winter descends, they work to create a community, and to keep faith alive when all humanity appeared to be lost.

Today i watched The Invasion - a thriller about a strange virus from outer space.
While returning to Earth, the space-bus explodes and the fragments bring an alien virus that recodes the human DNA. In Washington, the psychiatrist Carol Bennell (Nicole Kidman) observes the modification of the behavior of one of her clients first, then in her former husband and finally in the population in general. Together with her friend Dr. Ben Driscoll (Daniel Craig) the researcher Dr. Stephen Galeano, they discover that the extraterrestrial epidemic affects human beings while sleeping and that her son Oliver, who had chickenpox when he was a baby, is immune to the disease and may save mankind from the outbreak.
I enjoyed the movie as it was edgy and you were at the edge of your seat. The little boy who played oliver was adoreable and i liked the relationship he had with his mum. Nicole Kidman, as usual gave a fantastic performance and i liked Daniel craig playing Ben.
Daniel and Nicole had good chmistry in the film and so did Nicle and the boy who played her son.
The only thing that bugged me in this film was Daniel hair!!
Daniel Craig and his piercing blue eyes heat up the red carpet at the premiere of Flashbacks of a Fool at the Empire Cinema, Leicester Square on Sunday in London, England.
Craig, 40, was accompanied by longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell.
In the film, the 007 actor stars as Joe Scot, an fading British actor who having had a good run in Hollywood but is now on his way out. Scot looks back at the days of his youth as he returns home from his best friend’s funeral.
“He has failed as a human being, and I wanted to explore that,” Craig told reporters at the premiere. “I think you have to work hard at not becoming disillusioned about what you do for a living. If you have any success in what you do for a living, you have to maintain an energy and love of it. If you can, that’s a great thing.”
Flashbacks of a Fool opens in the UK on Friday, April 18. No US release date has been set yet.
USA Today has released a few new movie stills for the new James Bond film. The star of the film, Daniel Craig, shared a bit about his character in Quantum of Solace:
“He has his heart broken,” says Craig. “The love of his life is killed, and he finds out she’s not who she said she was. … He’s out for revenge. But he’s also out to find — and this is what the title is about — a ‘quantum of solace.’ Something has been taken away from him, and he’s out to get that back.”
Added Craig, “It’s a simplistic story that has been around for a long, long time: There’s one lone hero going after the bad guys. It has been around forever. But you have to apply morals to it, and within that you show somebody’s flaws. That’s what makes them interesting, the mistakes they make along the way and how they adjust.
“The fact is he’s hurt. He’s damaged and he wants revenge. And that’s another facet of somebody, and it’s not a good emotion to have. You’ve got to see how he deals with it. Last time around, it was just duty and duty alone. This time around, there’s a sense of revenge. That’s how he’s going to screw up. Because he will — but then he gets up and gets it right.”
Quantum of Solace has a tentative release date of Nov. 7 and is being directed by Marc Forster (The Kite Runner, Finding Neverland).
